Neighborhood Strategies was recognized by The Marietta Times following our presentation to the Marietta City Schools Board of Education, where we shared findings from the Harmar Elementary Redevelopment Assessment. With support from the Mayor’s Partnership for Progress at Ohio University, our team led a comprehensive, community-driven process to explore future possibilities for the former Harmar Elementary School site.

Shaped by extensive public engagement and local input, our team developed four preliminary concepts that were refined into one community-supported recommendation. With the community’s broad interest in a multi-use destination that includes flexible green spaces, river access, family-friendly amenities, and meaningful recognition of Marietta’s history, the final concept blends historic preservation, public spaces, riverfront access, connectivity, children’s activities, educational opportunities, and mixed-use development.

Neighborhood Strategies is honored to support Marietta’s efforts to reimagine the school property and is proud to provide a community-informed roadmap to guide future conversations and decision-making regarding the site.
