PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Grant Program, established by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, aims to improve road safety and reduce traffic-related fatalities and severe injuries. This federal initiative provides significant funding for transportation safety projects at the local, regional, and tribal levels, aligning with the USDOT’s goal of achieving zero roadway deaths through the Safe System Approach.

The Village of Hanover received funding to create a Safety Action Plan that outlines clear strategies to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries within the village limits. The plan focuses on enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety while fostering a community-wide culture of safety.

The Village chose Neighborhood Strategies to lead the creation of the Safety Action Plan with technical and engineering assistance from Jacobs.
